"Why I chose Insight" from participants of the Insight Programme
"I applied because I wasn't quite sure what McKinsey Consultants do on a day-to-day basis. I was hoping to get a sense for what the job is like and what it's like to work on problems that are generally considered "real-world."
"I wanted to learn more about McKinsey, about what a management consultant does and to figure out if this might be a career change for me. The program seemed like a fun and easy way to do this, especially because it was aimed at graduate students without a business background."
"Whilst I really do enjoy fundamental science and research, this isn't sufficient justification to become an academic. Because of this I've been looking at other possible careers that will be as challenging, diverse and impactful. Management Consultancy stood out as one potential pathway. I was particularly interested in spending more time with the McKinsey staff, of all levels, to obtain an insight into the McKinsey culture"
Lasting memories and thoughts from Insight
"Spending time with a group of smart & diverse postgraduate students in an amazing location!"
"The compliments that were given in our own business case team after the presentation. I really felt part of a team that tackled a case, which is quite contrary to the way PhD research normally works."
"Presenting to the "clients" at the end of the business case. It was a fun but challenging experience."
